Six questions to ask about any Texas solar proposal.

Ask these, and get the answers in writing

• Has someone inspected my roof in person, and does it need work first?
• Which retail electric provider plan are your numbers based on, and what are that plan's current export terms?
• Which charges on my bill stay the same with solar?
• Who does the electrical work, and what license do they hold?
• What do the roof, workmanship and equipment warranties each cover, and who honors them?
• Who submits the paperwork to my delivery utility, and when can the system be turned on?

Treat projections as claims to check

Savings projections depend on your usage, your plan's terms and assumptions about the future. Ask what each number assumes, and compare it with your own bills. No proposal can guarantee future rates or plan terms.
